Symptoms

A craquelé effect or cracking appears.

Cause

  • Different paint systems intermixed
  • The paint system shows a powdery surface
  • Too brittle paint system caused by ageing
  • Applied product cannot follow the movements of the inorganic substrate and/or underlying paint layers

Solution

Remove all paint layers and apply a new, fitting paint system. Poros substrates shall be saturated with [Alpha Dispersion Primer or equivalent]. Apply two coats of [Alphatex IQ] or [Alpha Topcoat or equivalent].
