Symptoms

The paint layer adheres insufficientlyb to the substrate or other paint layers.

Cause

  • Wrong product
  • Humid substrate during painting
  • Flaking cement skin of fresh concrete
  • Polluted substrate (not cleaned or degreased)
  • Weathered timber not removed before painting

Solution

Paint layers that are not sound shall be removed. Apply a new, fitting paint system. Apply a complete coat of universal primer or rust inhibiting primer. Apply an additional coat of primer (or midcoat) and a finish.
