Symptoms

Depending on the wood species used, wood content may migrate to the surface of the timber and stain the paint system (e.g. resin migration from yang and dye from merbau).

Cause

• Insufficiently degreased surface during pre-treatment
• Insufficiently primed surface

Solution

Remove all contaminants and finish with two or three layers of paint. Pay special attention to end grain.
