Sikkens: the right color
Practical experiences with waterborne lacquers

The offices of Achmea Bank are situated in three different building in the Hague, the Netherlands. Each of the buildings had their own character, old and new, modern and classic. The interior design should result in one representative office.

A connecting element is the wooden paneling throughout the buildings. This classic element is also placed in the modern parts of the offices. A delicate combination of materials, floor covering and colors completes the stylish ambiance.

Terra colors on the floor and soft yellow tones in high gloss on the panels and trims are determining the interior, showing warmth and protection. Original art-deco elements are maintained as much as possible.

The regulations in the Netherlands no longer allow the use of solvent borne paints for interior by professionals. Rubbol BL Azura, although still in the final test phase and not yet completely rolled out, was chosen as the high gloss water-borne alternative.

The job was completed according to plan. The water-borne finish looks fantastic with a gloss and body which complies completely with the quality requirements. Only a craftsman will be able to see the difference.
